Freelance Writing and Editing Services for Medical Organizations, Publications, and Professionals, Small Businesses and Non-Profits
I have been a writer/editor for more than 15 years, both as a freelance and in-house writer and copyeditor.
To help others communicate through writing and design, to educate and advocate about health care, and to be involved in social service -- these goals have intertwined over the course of my career.
From a pre-med curriculum in college, (double major in English and Zoology), and a summer doing tissue culture in a Cystic Fibrosis lab, I entered graduate school, and helped finance my literary studies by working in a hematology-oncology lab, teaching writing and literature, tutoring at the Writing Center, and working and volunteering at the Women's Center in a variety of positions. See my resume for more detail.
In addition to work, I am passionate about: the privilege of putting INK to paper in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, near CharlottesVILLE; family and community; health-care, environmental, and social justice causes; cooking and local foods; hiking; poetry, and the idea that "books do furnish a room" (Sir Anthony Powell).
