INKVILLE: putting INK to paper near CharlotttesVILLE, Virginia
Welcome to my web site. I'm Amelia L. Williams, PhD, a poet, editor, professional medical/grant writer, and teacher, located in the Rockfish River Valley, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
My poems are concerned with inner and outer wilderness, landscape, the “wild wood” of relationship, and the geology and natural history of human attachments. They often combine a strong sense of place with a playful tendency to fray the fabric of meaning just a little to see what "patina" can be achieved. ("Patina" is the name of my passive solar, timber-frame house). See my poetry pages to learn more.
I also offer a blend of mindfulness-creativity practices that I call Wild Ink: The Art of the Trail: walks during which I guide participants in an experience that fuses mindfulness, sense of place, and inspiration in/through motion, walking and creating along natural and urban trails.
I'm a professional writer and editor, with expertise in medical writing, grant and proposal writing, information design, and other business communication. See the Write/Edit links above to learn more about these services.
In addition to information on my professional writing services, this site has poems, a blog, and links to resources for teachers and writers. If you’re a writer, an artist, a meditator, a teacher, a hiker/outdoor enthusiast, a storyteller, or a lover of poetry, please take your time and look around.
